How to Install Zen Coding (emmet) for Sublime Text 2?



Emmet  previously known as zen coding  is one of the popular editor plugin to quickly create the markup. There are many way to install emmet for sublime text. But, here I'm going to explain about how did I install the emmet plugin for sublime text2 on windows operating system.

Zen Coding

It is very helpful and it improve the HTML and CSS workflow. Using a very few lines of text we can create the code snippet which will normally take more time to write. There are different ways to install this plugin which you can find it from theI'm going to explain about how did I install this emmet plugin.

  • Open Sublime text 2 editor and press the keyboard shortcut  ctrl + `  otherwise go to view and then show console.
  • Enter the following code in the console and press enter.

  • Then press the keyboard shortcut   ctrl + shift + p  for command palette else you can access from tools in the sublime text menu bar. 
  • Now, Search for install package and  Select Package control: Install Package.  Then, search for emmet and select it. It will install the package and load PyV8 binary. It will just take around 10 to 15 sec and then you are ready to expore.



Now, type the following code and hit tab.


Instantly you will get the following basic html 5 code snippet.


To create the heading and unordered list item, type following code and get the 20 lines of html markup in 10 sec.
